33. Global Finance Conference

18th June 2026

Paweł Kossecki attended the Global Finance Conference in Ponta Delgada. The 33rd edition of the event was organized by the University of the Azores (Universidade dos Açores), the Faculty of Economics and Management (Universidade dos Açores), and the Center for Applied Economic Studies of the Atlantic (CEEApIA).
The conference featured sessions on topics including investor behavior, financial markets, risk and volatility management, corporate finance, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity markets, regulations, ESG, climate risk, green finance, fintech, and the use of artificial intelligence and automation in the financial sector.
This year, I moderated a discussion dedicated to the Risk & Volatility section. Paweł Kossecki participated in a panel discussion and spoke about identifying and managing risk in today’s financial markets. This is an extremely important issue, especially in light of evolving economic and technological challenges.
Paweł Kossecki also presented a paper co-authored with Mariusz Przybylik and Prof. Yochanan Shachmurove on the financial aspects of the adoption of photovoltaic technology by prosumers in Poland and Germany.

A highlight of this year’s event was a lecture by Prof. Joel Mokyr, winner of the 2025 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences. He received this award jointly with Philippe Aghion and Peter Howitt for their contributions to explaining the mechanisms of innovation-driven economic growth.
