Autumn of Science at KTP

20th October 2026

On the one hand, autumn is the transfer pricing season for tax consultancy firms, but it is also a good time to step up academic activity. In November, Paweł Kossecki, together with Mariusz Przybylik and Yochanan Shachmurove, will present a paper entitled “Value co-creation by prosumers in Poland and Germany through the adoption of power balancing technologies” at the 74th edition of the Meeting of the Euro Working Group for Commodities and Financial Modelling. This time, the conference will take place in La Romana, Dominican Republic, at the Casa de Campo Resort & Villas, the Dominican Republic’s largest hotel and leisure complex, covering an area of approximately 2,800 hectares. The complex features golf courses, a marina, an equestrian and polo centre, tennis courts, a private beach and numerous restaurants. The complex also includes Altos de Chavón, a reconstruction of a Mediterranean village featuring an amphitheatre with a capacity of around 5,000 spectators. The conference will be an excellent opportunity to combine substantive meetings and networking with the chance to explore one of the most recognisable holiday resorts in the Dominican Republic.

Prior to this, Paweł Kossecki, together with Mariusz Przybylik and Yochanan Shachmurove, will present a paper entitled “Value co-creation by prosumers in Poland and Germany through the adoption of power balancing technologies” at the Informatics 2027 conference in Poprad, organised by the Technical University of Košice.

In September, whilst visiting New York, Paweł Kossecki worked with Yochanan Shachmurove from The City College of New York on a new publication concerning transfer pricing. He also gave a lecture at CCNY on “The Economics of IP Rights”.  He spoke, amongst other things, about how to view intellectual property rights from an economic perspective, how to approach their valuation, and what challenges arise in practice. During a visit to Miami, Paweł discussed cooperation with Robinson Reyes-Pena on issues relating to the valuation of intangible assets and economic development.
